Treasury and financial account disclosures
Withholden is not a bank, chartered financial institution, money transmitter, escrow agent, trust company, payroll provider, employer of record, or tax authority.
Withholden partners with Stripe Payments Company for money transmission services and account services, with funds held at Stripe bank partners, Members FDIC.
When the app refers to a tax savings account, tax reserve, reserve, or similar balance, it means a Withholden tax-planning feature built on a Stripe Treasury financial account. It is not a traditional bank account, deposit account, checking account, or personal savings account.
Balances in eligible U.S. financial accounts are eligible for FDIC pass-through insurance up to applicable limits and subject to program requirements. FDIC insurance does not protect against every possible loss, including fraud, operational errors, tax miscalculations, reversals, chargebacks, failed tax payments, or Withholden's failure.
Funds set aside for taxes are not paid to the IRS or any state tax authority unless and until you authorize a supported payment and that payment is processed and accepted by the recipient.
You will not receive interest, earnings, investment returns, or rewards on tax savings balances unless a separate written disclosure says otherwise. The service is not a general-purpose wallet, person-to-person transfer product, remittance product, bill-payment product, or stored value product.
By opening or using the account, you also agree to the Stripe Services Agreement, Stripe Treasury connected-account terms, and Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
